How To Download Games To PSP
Have you been having trouble trying to download games onto your PSP? Here are the quick and easy steps:
1.) Get A Memory Stick
The PSP comes with a small 32 MB card that is really not big enough to store games onto. If you really want to watch video clips and play large amounts of games, you’ll definitely need a card with more memory. You can buy most of these cards practically anywhere, but my suggestion would be to go to an online source as they tend to be cheaper.
2.) Download PSP game files to your computer
Once you have downloaded game files to your computer, you are able to transfer them to your PSP. IMPORTANT: Make sure that the games you download are compatible with your PSP’s firmware version. If you have never upgraded your PSP’s firmware, the chances are that your version is 1.0. Make sure that the games you download are for version 1.0 of your psp. If your firmware version does not support the games then you will get an error message saying something like “The data is corrupted.”
3.) Uncompress the file
If the game is compressed into a ZIP file, you will need a program like Winzip or Stuffit Expander (Mac) to uncompress the file. These programs will automatically unzip the file.
4.) Connect your PSP to your computer
To be able to play the game you must connect the PSP to your computer (duh). You should use the USB cable that the PSP comes with. The PSP must be in USB mode for the files to transfer. To do this, press the HOME button and scroll to the SETTINGS column. Scroll to USB CONNECTION and press X. Then you are ready for file transfer.
5.) Copy the PSP Game to your PSP
You have to copy the game to PSP > Game. If you do not put the game in this folder, it will certainly not work.
6.) Play the game
Once the game has been copied you can now play it. Disconnect your PSP. From the “Game” option, just scroll over and down to the “Memory Stick” option. Press X and your games will be displayed!
